Faith & Life Lessons | Preparing for Your New Season

image

Welcome to the September 13th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email is full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

What do you do when you think you are in crusp of something big or a new season?

This year, I have been doing something.

I have been retreating more.

Taking time to pray and fast.

Why?

Because I know everything about my life is intertwined.

All expressions are linked to God, glorified in me and through me.

So, this week, I did a 7-day fast.

My next season is going to be different, so I'm prepping differently for it.

Making more time for meditation, listening and doing.

Yes...there must be actions.

I am committed to that.

The week went differently...no fire and lightning. Just me cleaning up the cobwebs in certain areas of my life.

I can't take those dusty areas into the new season.

I am renewed in something more, for something more to live more.

Things I Learned

1- A World Without Discipled Men: I got into a few conversations where marriages were struggling.

One concern I saw in these situations was the men. Yes, the wives had their part, but I'm only speaking to my constituency.

I could see that the men had not been discipled on how to be a man.

I fear that there are so many more cases like these.

Undiscipled men leading their homes and hitting the wall, thinking it is the door.

The bigger issue is that there is an age when it becomes difficult for a man to change.

It's not an age...it's simply a season in life when they think they have figured most things out.

At that time, they think their way is the winning way... no matter what.

I really wish for more for men.

Some of us have to take an interest in the growth of ourselves.

2-Service Opens Doors to Service: During a conversation with an event organiser, I shared my thoughts on how I thought I would serve their audience best.

I didn't hold back in how I shared what I believed would be valuable to their audience.

Interestingly, after they listened, they decided that they wanted to work furher me with after their event.

My value to their audience could not be restricted to just the event - they wanted more.

They even changed how I was going to be positioned at the event.

Instead of just a panel session, they moved me to a main session.

Serving well created more opportunities to serve

Postscript

May you be wise in how you serve the people that come your way. Amen
