Faith & Life Lessons – March 16, 2025

image

Welcome to the March 16th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

I was a bit under the weather during the week.

Nothing too serious.

I guess my body was reminding me to take it a bit slow.

Which I did.

Paced myself differently from mid-week till the end of the week.

A simple reminder that I can do anything but I can’t do everything.

So, I’ll keep my eyes on the most important things.

Giving my attention to the most stuff that is really worth my attention.

Making the most of every day.

Putting more life in my day.

Things I Learnt

1 - Habits Provide More Goal Guarantees: During a meeting with my business coach, he broke down one of my goals into habits that I needed to form and live by.

Habits are more challenging than one-off actions.

Because habits will become a part of me if live well.

So, in the new week, I’m kicking off the new habit formation.

But first, there is a foundational habit I need to build.

I need to consistently go to bed at a certain time.

Yep.

That is going to be the mountain to climb.

Why?

Because I like to finish whatever I am working on. So, I typically end up working late hours.

Now I have to do it differently.

I have to be willing to shut down earlier and use my daylight hours differently.

The game is afoot.

2 - Living the Peace of the Season: The in-between season is usually one of unease.

Why?

Because I have to commit to two courses of action.

Yes…pulled on two sides.

I can’t be passive about either direction.

The reason?

It would be a sin of unfaithfulness to God if I am not faithful to do my best on both options until He finally shows me which option to fully commit to.

The joy of the in-between season is living in peace despite the two pulling directions.

I love the peace.

I am grateful for the peace.

I live through the in-between at peace.

Postscript

May God’s peace keep your heart at rest during your season of tests. Amen
