Faith & Life Lessons | Gifts of Men

Welcome to the May 3rd edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

This week moved fast.

Perhaps the one-day holiday was also part of it.

The bigger thing is that I am getting a lot of demand for my time. Not unimportant things.

There are things that I can truly add value to.

In the midst of everything, I had to sit back and define the things that really matter to me.

They will take a bigger priority because they impact me and the people that matter most to me.

This is the biggest thing I had to do to reframe my week.

But one thing is clear to me - I am living through this season with peace.

A peace that is more than my imagination.

God is protecting my mind from the pressures I am facing.

I am grateful for this.

It’s a peace I don’t want to lose.

I am living in it.

Things I Learned

1-The Blessing of People: Late in the week, during a time of reflection, I realised I needed help with something.

It was important that I had to reach out for help.

It wasn’t the reach out that was the big aha to me. It was the reminder that I have a network of people that I can call on for specific matters.

It is the blessing of people.

God has given me gifts of men. I am never stranded.

I just have to be faithful to serve & honour them.

They are gifts to be treasured.

2-A World With Good People: During the week, I had to do something at the US embassy. I assumed I could make a payment with my debit card for the process at the embassy.

Interestingly, they insisted they only took cash. A big surprise in the world we live in is that an institution like that would only take cash.

I was given a time interval to get the cash and come back to the embassy so I could still keep my appointment.

As I stepped out, I met a cash broker who surprised me by offering to give me the equivalent of $135…without getting any security from me.

It was after I had completed the process that I came back to repay her for the advance she gave me.

But the big surprise was how she reaffirmed my belief that the world still has good people.

And good people still do good things…even in challenging times.

Postscript

May you have open eyes to see the gifts of men that God has blessed you with. Amen
