Welcome to the August 30th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.
The Story of My Week.
I saw the part-fulfilment of something God told me a few weeks back.
I shared with you that God encouraged me with the word that none of the opportunities that He had opened, which I haven't been able to fully take advantage of, were lost.
These were things that had to do with my practice.
I got feedback and progress on them this week...all are still open and in process.
God is keeping the doors open for me.
This week I am learning to dream bigger dreams.
Not because I don't have imagination, but because God is asking me to dream bigger than I have even thought.
I am praying, meditating, believing and working towards the bigger dreams.
God is very much at work in me.
For bigger dreams.
For the sake of the kingdom
Things I Learned
1-Not Perfect Marriages: I spent a bit of time with 2 couples.
These marriages were closing in on their 3rd decade.
They had raised older kids who had completed university education already.
During my time with them, I was reminded that there are no perfect marriages. There are only marriages where people are yielding for each other.
They don't make every hill a hill to die upon. There are just a few of those hills. The rest are just bumps to be negotiated.
Not perfect marriages... just people willing to yield ground for each other.
2-The Watchers Who Decree Things: The polity in Nigeria is heating up. Election campaign is in full swing.
Most people have a voice, and they use it. The issue is where.
There are some who have a voice that changes the course of a nation. We will not find them on most social media and public platforms.
Why?
Because they don't judge by what they see or hear. They judge by what is right.
They are the ones who can declare things over a nation and see God perform it.
Because they understand times and seasons.
They are the Watchers who feel the heartbeat of God.
Are you one of them?
I was reminded that this is my role.
A Watcher who walks faithfully enough with God to be able to frame the national destiny of my country.
I am guarding my heart in this election and campaign season.
Postscript
May your eyes be open to how God is moving in these times. Amen
If this encouraged you, please share it with a friend who needs it. And if you are not subscribed yet, make sure you are on the list so you do not miss the next one.
