Day 7: The follow-up system that turns maybes into yeses (I'm home with my girls)
Feb 15, 2026 6:24 pm
Hey there,
Day 7 of Valentine's week. The finale.
Quick life update: I brought my wife and our second daughter home today. Family is complete. Life is good.
Now let's wrap this series with the two things that actually close deals - follow-ups and sales calls.
Here's what most people get wrong about follow-ups:
They either give up after one email, or they stalk prospects across every platform like a desperate ex.
Neither works.
Here's the system that does:
3 touchpoints on email. 7 touchpoints total across all channels.
You pick max 3 channels without being called a professional stalker.
Examples:
- Email + LinkedIn + WhatsApp
- Email + Twitter + Cold call
- Email + LinkedIn + Instagram
Mix and match based on where your ICP hangs out.
The follow-up cadence:
1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 14 days, 30 days, then 90 days.
That's 7 touchpoints spread over a quarter.
After that? You move on and redo the cycle next quarter.
What if they respond?
If they say no - respectfully remove them from the list. Don't argue. Don't try to "overcome objections" via email. Just thank them and move on.
If they say "not now" or "maybe later" - put them in the 90-day follow-up queue and check back.
If they say yes - book the call and move to the sales process.
What kind of follow-ups should you send?
Most people just resend the same pitch. That's lazy.
Here are the types that actually work:
- Value add (share a case study, article, or tool they'd find useful)
- Social proof (new client win related to their industry)
- Breakup email ("Should I close your file?")
- Pattern interrupt ("Wrong person?")
Mix them up. Don't be predictable.
Now here's what happens when they book the call:
Most people wing it. They hop on Zoom and just start talking.
That's why they don't close.
Here's the framework that works:
There's a proven sales call structure I use for every single discovery call:
- Building rapport
- Setting the agenda
- Discussing the pain and current state
- Asking about past attempts
- Defining success
- Bridging the solution
- Pitching
- Price reveal
- Handling objections
- Closing
It's a 10-step framework that takes you from "nice to meet you" to "when can we start" in less than 30 minutes.
I'm not going to break down all 10 steps here - that would be a 3,000-word email.
But if you want the full breakdown with scripts, tonality shifts, and objection handling for each step?
Reply with "SALES CALL STRUCTURE" and I'll send you the complete framework - includes real call recordings, scripts, and the exact questions I ask at each stage.
Here's the truth:
Most people lose deals because they don't follow up enough, or they follow up wrong.
And when they do get on a call, they pitch too early and lose the deal.
Follow-ups get you the meeting. The sales structure closes the deal.
Master both, and you're unstoppable.
Valentine's week recap:
- Day 1: Multi-channel outreach (LinkedIn, Twitter, Email, Calls, WhatsApp)
- Day 2: Subject lines that actually get opened (50%+ open rates)
- Day 3: Building trust with personalization (not AI slop)
- Day 4: Personal brand + super signature that closes before the call
- Day 5: The 3 CTAs that get meetings (15-min call, Loom audit, custom lead magnet)
- Day 6: Tiered offers you learned from the Sindhis and Hormozi
- Day 7: Follow-up system + sales call structure (today)
You now have a complete client conquest system.
Multi-channel outreach → trust-building emails → CTAs that convert → tiered offers → follow-ups that persist → sales calls that close.
Want help implementing this entire system in your business?
I've got a few spots left for free 15-min lead gen strategy calls. We'll look at where you're at, what's missing, and build a roadmap to get you closing deals consistently.
Or if you want the full system built with you over 90 days - workshops, 1-on-1s, templates, scripts, and accountability - the Cold Outreach Mastery cohort is open.
5 spots left. INR 29,500 with moneyback guarantee.
Let's make 2026 your best year for client acquisition.
Best,
Divij
P.S. This was Valentine's week. 7 days. 7 lessons. A complete system to conquer clients. If you missed any day, reply "SEND ALL" and I'll forward you the entire series.
P.P.S. Bringing my daughter home today reminded me why I do this - build systems that give you time and money freedom. Follow-ups and sales calls are the final pieces. Reply "SALES CALL STRUCTURE" and I'll show you how to close without being pushy.
