Day 6: The proposal they can't refuse (Valentine's Day special)

Feb 14, 2026 5:19 pm

Hey there,

Day 6 of Valentine's week. It's Valentine's Day - the day of proposals.

Perfect timing to talk about crafting offers that prospects actually say yes to.

Here's my biggest mistake in 2023:

I used to refuse clients if they couldn't afford my full-service package.

Someone would reach out: "Can you help with our cold email?"

Me: "Sure, that's INR 70,000 per month."

Them: "That's outside our budget."

Me: "Sorry, that's the only way I work."

I turned away dozens of clients. Left money on the table. Thought I looked like a bigshot but honestly, looked like an idiot.

Then I learned about tiered offers from two sources:

  1. The Sindhis in my network - they've been running multi-tiered businesses for generations. But they had one rule - never let a customer go empty handed.
  2. Alex Hormozi - his framework on value ladders changed how I structured my entire offer.

Here's what I do now:

I have 3 tiers for every service I offer.

Let's say someone wants cold email help:

Tier 1: DIY with guidance (INR 30,000/month)

  • I give them the strategy, templates, and frameworks
  • They execute it themselves
  • Monthly check-in call to review performance

Tier 2: Done-with-you (INR 50,000/month)

  • My team build the campaigns with them
  • They send the emails, we optimize and troubleshoot
  • Weekly calls + Slack access

Tier 3: Done-for-you (INR 70,000/month)

  • We handle everything - strategy, copywriting, sending, follow-ups
  • They just show up to close the meetings I book
  • Daily Slack access + bi-weekly strategy calls

Same client who said "that's outside our budget" now has 3 options.

Maybe they can't afford Tier 3. But they can afford Tier 1.

You get a client. They get results. And when they grow, they upgrade to Tier 2, then Tier 3.

Why tiered offers work:

Most people aren't saying no because they don't want your service. They're saying no because they can't afford your only option.

Give them 3 options and suddenly you're not turning anyone away.

Alex Hormozi calls this the value ladder:

You meet prospects where they are financially, then ascend them as they grow.

The Sindhis have been doing this for decades in retail, wholesale, and services. It's not new. But most people in B2B ignore it.

Here's how to structure your 3 tiers:

Tier 1: Low-ticket, high-involvement

  • They do most of the work
  • You provide the roadmap and guidance
  • Price: 20-30% of your premium offer

Tier 2: Mid-ticket, collaboration

  • You work together
  • They execute, you strategize and optimize
  • Price: 50-60% of your premium offer

Tier 3: High-ticket, done-for-you

  • You do everything
  • They just approve and close
  • Price: Your full premium rate

What NOT to do:

Don't make Tier 1 so bad that nobody wants it. Each tier should deliver real value.

Don't create 5+ tiers. Too many options paralyze decision-making. Three is the sweet spot.

Don't price Tier 1 too cheap. You're not trying to race to the bottom. You're giving options, not discounts.

Here's the magic:

When you present 3 tiers, most people pick Tier 2. It feels like the "smart choice."

Some pick Tier 1 because budget is tight - but they're in the door.

The high-performers who want speed pick Tier 3.

You stop turning away clients. You stop leaving money on the table.

The Valentine's Day lesson:

Just like proposing marriage, you don't give someone one take-it-or-leave-it option. You meet them where they are.
