Tech Stock Strength Leads the Overall Market Higher Ahead of U.S. CPI

image

On Monday, the S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) closed up +0.93%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) closed up +0.56%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up +1.76%. 🚀 This means that the stock market is feeling great, with all three indexes hitting new highs!

Chip stocks led the way in the tech sector, and there were even some big company buyouts that gave stocks a boost. Plus, things are looking good for inflation to ease up, which could mean great news for stocks! 🙌 Let's see what the future holds!

Options Bulls Swarm Outperforming Natural Gas Stock

image

Natural gas company Equitrans Midstream Corp (NYSE:ETRN) is on 🔥! Trading at $9.31 and up 1.1% at last check, ETRN boasts a whopping 38.1% year-to-date lead.

The shares are set to end their three-day losing streak and bounce back from last week's surge to their highest level since August. ETRN's 10-day moving average and support at the $9 level helped the security score its fifth consecutive weekly gain. 🤑

Options traders have also taken notice of the rally, with ETRN making Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative Analyst Rocky White's list of S&P 400 (SP400) stocks that attracted the highest weekly options volume in the last 10 days.

Earnings Results: Oracle says its AI customers want to buy more than $2 billion in cloud capacity

image

Shares of Oracle Corp. skyrocketed after hours on Monday when the IT and cloud infrastructure provider revealed fiscal fourth-quarter results that exceeded expectations. This success was largely due to a surge in cloud revenue, which executives say is a sign that the company is well-positioned for an AI-driven future 🤖.

During the earnings call, executives didn't hesitate to name-drop their AI collaborators. They mentioned chip maker Nvidia Corp., which is working with Oracle to develop a massive AI computer that uses thousands of graphics processing units. Additionally, Oracle's AI customers have signed contracts to purchase over $2 billion in cloud capacity 💰. Looks like Oracle is headed for the stars!

Shopify Stock Jumps After Analyst Bull Note

image

Shopify Inc (NYSE:SHOP) is crushing it on social media site StockTwits today! The online services stock hit a 52-week high of $65.62 🚀 and is up 6.2% to trade at $65.19. Jefferies just raised its price target to $65 from $44 with a "hold" recommendation 🤑.

Unusual Options Volume Validates Enthusiasm for Netflix (NFLX)

image

🎉OMG! Did you hear about Netflix's incredible comeback story?! In the beginning of 2022, their stock prices were plummeting and they were on the verge of collapse. But, their determined management team refused to give up and made some big changes. One of the most controversial changes involved password sharing, but they found a way to make it work. Now, users can still share their access with friends and family, but they just have to pay a little extra. Way to go, Netflix! 🎊👏

Option Volatility And Earnings Report For June 12 - 16

image

👀 Not much action in the earnings world this week, but we do have some big players reporting, including Adobe (ADBE), Lennar Corp (LEN), Oracle (ORCL), and Kroger (KR). Before a company spills the beans, the market gets all jittery and implied volatility skyrockets. But once the news is out, the volatility usually levels out . Let's talk numbers!

To get an idea of where these stocks might be headed, check out the option chain and add together the at-the-money put and call options' prices, using the first expiry date after the earnings date. This might not be 100% precise, but it's a pretty good guesstimate 🤞.
