Why NuScale Power (SMR) Is a Diamond in the Rough for the Energy Ecosystem

At first glance, investing in nuclear energy specialist NuScale Power (SMR) may not seem like the 💰 smartest move. The industry is struggling with a lack of enthusiasm from the public and the potential risks of nuclear power are certainly concerning. But, don't let the 📉 falling stock prices scare you away. There's actually a lot of scientific potential and the demand for energy is only increasing. Plus, with global and demographic factors at play, NuScale Power could turn things around. 📈 And, it seems like even options traders are starting to take notice. 😉.

Dollar Gains on Yuan Weakness and a Slide in Stocks

💹 The dollar index had a pretty good day on Wednesday, rising +0.14% and reaching a 2-1/2 month high. This was due in part to stocks taking a dip, leading to a higher demand for dollars. However, the dollar's rally was toned down by Fed Governor Jefferson and Philadelphia Fed President Harker, who made dovish comments in support of pausing Fed rate hikes.

On the flip side, the Chinese yuan fell to a 6-month low against the dollar due to unexpected economic news. 📉 Tuesday's U.S. economic news was a bit of a mixed bag for the dollar. Job openings in April were higher than expected, indicating a stronger labor market. But the May MNI Chicago PMI showed weaker than expected results, with the steepest pace of contraction in 6 months. 😐

Nat-Gas Prices Fall on Cooler U.S. Forecasts and Ample Supplies

July Nymex natural gas (NGN23) had a rough day on Wednesday, closing down -0.061 (-2.62%). The poor gas prices were due to updated weather forecasts predicting cooler temperatures in the US, which means less demand for nat-gas from electricity providers for air-conditioning.

😓 The Commodity Weather Group predicted above-normal temps for the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions this week but then a cooler and more seasonal change the following week. In addition, expectations for a larger-than-normal seasonal build in nat-gas inventories is bearish for prices.

The consensus is for Thursday's weekly EIA nat-gas inventories to increase by +107 bcf, above the 5-year average for this time of year at +101 bcf. ⛽ Nat-gas prices have been struggling since December and hit a 2-1/2 year nearest-futures low (NGK23) Apr 14 due to the

💔 Recent bank failures show that lenders need to watch out for risks in their business model, says RBI deputy governor M K Jain. 😱 RBI governor Shaktikanta Das also warns about banks trying to hide bad loans with "smart" accounting. 🤔 Jain reminds banks not to rely too much on their control systems and to avoid risky strategies.

CrowdStrike (NASDAQ:CRWD) Beats Q1 Sales Targets But Stock Drops

🔥 Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike just crushed it in Q1 FY2024! 🚀 Analysts were blown away by their revenue growth of 42% YoY, which reached a whopping $692.6 million. 🤑 And guess what? Next quarter's revenue is expected to be even higher at around $722.3 million! 🤑💰 CrowdStrike also managed to turn a profit of $499 thousand, which is a major improvement from their loss of $30.4 million last year. 🙌🏼 Their revenue growth over the last two years has been insane, going from $302.8 million in Q1 FY2022 to $692.6 million! 😱 This just shows that CrowdStrike is on fire and maintaining a strong growth trajectory! 🔥

Invitation Homes Could Win As House Prices Move Higher

🏠📈 S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) just released their March 2023 S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices and good news, folks! 🎉 All three home price indices went up in March, marking the second consecutive month of increases since they started dropping in June 2022. 🙌 While this is a positive sign, S&P DJI warns that we're not out of the woods yet. 🌳 Current mortgage rates and the possibility of economic weakness could still impact housing prices for the next few months. 😕 That being said, the U.S. National Index went up 0.4%, and the 10-City and 20-City Composites saw increases of 0.6% and 0.5%, respectively. 🌇🌆🌃 As a result, 15 cities experienced price increases in March. 🎊

Unusual Options Activity in Tesla Stock Shows a Large Investor Taking a Position

🚀 Huge movements in Tesla (TSLA) stock options on May 30! An investor made two big trades: one was a put option expiring this Friday at the $202.50 strike price, and the other was a call option expiring on October 20, 2023 at the $310 strike price. 😱 The first option was in-the-money, but the second was way out-of-the-money. 🤑 Looks like someone is feeling bullish about Tesla's future! 🌟
