3-Point Thursday #306

Mar 02, 2023 8:08 pm

Hey,

How are we in March now?! Wild. Some Finals this month as we head into the final stretch of the season...crazy. And makes me even more aware summer is fast approaching!

This week's 3-pointer:

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ New faces debut but cannot prevent GB defeats

A new-look GB Men's squad took to the floor last week in the final FIBA World Cup qualifying window. With no chance of qualification, it was an opportunity for Head Coach Marc Steutel to give some new faces a run, with 4 players getting debuts and another handful having limited appearances. It was a heavy defeat to Belgium on Friday in Newcastle, before a much better performance on Monday against Serbia. The emergence of Quinn Ellis and Amin Adamu are huge positives for the programme which enters a new era.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ College season fast coming to an end

March Madness is fast approaching, and with it comes the end of the regular season. Three Brits have already claimed titles, with Esther Little at Gonzaga, Ethan Price at Eastern Washington, and Tobi Lawal at VCU all claiming silverware. Meanwhile, in Canada, Louise Rouse was named to the Canada West All-Rookie team after an impressive first year at Calgary. Expect more to come!
