3-Point Thursday #308

Mar 16, 2023 7:27 pm

Hey,

May as well call me a clown 🀑 with the amount of juggling I'm doing at the moment, crazy week, crazy day with non stop calls and just finished recording a podcast with new BBF Chair Chris Grant (dropping tomorrow if all goes to plan)!

Plenty plenty going on, so here is this week's 3-pointer:

🏟 £20million arena coming to Scotland

Huge news out of Scotland this week as Caledonia Gladiators will be building a Β£20million, state-of-the-art, purpose built 6,000-seater arena and five-court practice and community facility - with work starting in 2024. Facilities are a huge piece of the puzzle - the more, the better! On that note, I'm in the process of putting together a pitch for a project in London...if anyone wants to get involved, hit me up!

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Brits in March Madness

Rather than reading this email, you should be watching the NCAA tournament which is now underway! Check out all the Brits to follow in the men's tournament, and in the women's tournament.

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί Euroleague targeting London sooner than thought?

It's a conversation that crops up every few years, and here we are again as the talk of London having a Euroleague team within the next few years is looking increasingly more likely. Euroleague CEO Marshall Glickman has said London will definitely have a team at some point, it's more a matter of when...and with the Lions now having deep pockets and not being shy about their Euroleague ambitions, it is starting to look more of a potential reality than every before.

Also on the site this week: BBL top 10 plays from February, Hemel Storm stay undefeated to seal the KitKing Trophy, and Troy Deeney throws hat into the ring for a BBL franchise (and even maybe Allen Iverson)?!

That's a wrap - get back to watching the tournament, but let me know if you have any questions, comments or anything else!

With gratitude,

Sam
