3-Point Thursday #307

Mar 09, 2023 11:41 am

Hey,

Another week down, with all my time being consumed with trying to keep track of the countless Brits in the US college system! We move.

This week's 3-pointer:

🇺🇸 March Madness

The US college basketball season is heating up and it's hard for us to keep up with so many Brits having success. Amari Williams has won back to back Defensive Player of the Year awards, Sesan Russell has broken the school record for assists, Jubrile Belo & Great Osobor were recognised in the Big Sky conference awards before punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament (along with Caleb Fuller and Chris Haslam, Tosan Evbuomwan is Ivy League all-first team, while Dan Akin has picked up 6th Man of the Year. On the women's side, Savannah Wilkinson is all-AAC second team again, along with Teresa Da Silva picking up All-WAC second team...and that's not all of them either - for the sake of brevity, check out our Brits in College section to be up to date!

🇸🇮 GB Women learn EuroBasket draw

GB’s Senior Women now know who they will face at FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2023 after the draw for the Final Round was conducted in Slovenia, on Wednesday. Chema Buceta’s side were amongst the third seeds and were placed into Group C with top-seeded France, hosts Slovenia and Germany - who's making the trip?!

🏫 BUCS Finals set

Loughborough are going for the double university title in the men and women categories after both winning their respective semi-final match ups on Wednesday. They will face UWE in the men's final - led by BBL big man Malcolm Delpeche, and Essex in the women's final, in what will almost be a WBBL match up. You can find the Quarter-Finals recap here as well.

That wraps up another week, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!

With gratitude,

Sam
