3-Point Thursday #203
Aug 20, 2020 5:35 pm
Hey,
Man, I legit don't know where the weeks are going at the moment. Whole summer is flying by!
This week's 3-pointer:
It was great to talk with Holly this week on the pod following her decision to leave Oregon and return to the UK on a 3 year deal in the WBBL with Leicester. As you'll hear in the pod, there's a lot more that goes into all these decision than purely basketball and I think her choice to optimise for happiness is important and something a lot more people need to do. Excited to keep following her journey.
London Lions found out their second set of potential European opponents (should they not quality for the BCL Regular Season) as the 2020-21 FIBA Europe Cup draw took place in Munich. Meanwhile, their mission to reach the regular season of the BCL has been simplified following the decision to switch from two-legged ties to a Final Four version in which two wins from two will suffice.
It is rare that you'll see basketball and badminton (amongst others) teaming up, but that is what has happened in the last week or so as a group of NGBs (including BE) are calling on the government to accelerate access to indoor facilities for sport. COVID-19 is still causing havoc with no sense of normality (for basketball) appearing to be returning anytime soon.
That wraps up another week, as always, hit reply with any questions, feedback or anything else!
With gratitude,
Sam
P.S. Keep track of all our top pros playing abroad and where they are signing - men here, and women here.
