🌱 The Hoopsfix Foundation appoints new board members

The Hoopsfix Foundation - our not-for-profit arm - has kept me pretty busy over the last few months, as I've tried to get things in order to head into the next phase of what we're trying to do to drive the game forward. That's included re-writing our governing articles, outlining the mission and objectives, appointing a new board, and of course, sorting out a shiny new website. I couldn't be happier with our board members; we had our first meeting this month and it was clear we have the capacity to create positive change for basketball in the UK. I'm excited for what's next - starting with two relatively big (for us!) funding bids that I believe, if successful, will enable us to make a solid impact in our first year of operations!

🇬🇧 GB face Greece tonight

Make sure you are locked in this evening as GB Senior Men face Greece in Newcastle - the 12-man roster was announced late last night (don't get me started on the absolute joke of their media/comms through all this), and BBC Sport have picked up both games in the window - starting at 6:20pm tonight! With the Newcastle Eagles Arena sold out, it should be rocking - looking forward to seeing Jordan Williams' debut, along with Kavell Bigby-Williams returning to the squad.

🦁 Lions Women suffer tough defeat in Europe

Lions' return to EuroCup action saw them suffer a heavy 68-41 defeat on the road against Zabiny Brno last night, in a big dent to their chances of making it through to the playoffs. However, domestically, they booked their spot in the WBBL Cup Final at the weekend, behind Jo Leedham-Warner's biggest performance of the season so far - can't emphasise enough how big of a deal it is to have a player of her stature playing here!
