3-Point Thursday #266

Nov 22, 2021 2:37 pm

Hey,

Happy Monday!

Last week's 3-pointer:

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ GB Senior Women drop to 0-2

Was a disastrous start for the GB Women on the road to EuroBasket 2023 qualification, with a loss to Greece at home in Manchester, before being taken down away at the hands of Estonia - a team that they just should not be losing to, even short-handed. They couldn't have asked for a better group draw, and no-one would have been expected them to be sitting at the bottom of it at 0-2 after the first window.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 10 Brits to Watch in NCAA D1 this Season

This was actually surprisingly hard to do - with 40+ guys in D1 this season, there are a number of different stories to follow and it would be easy to make a case for way more than 10. That said, we wanted to do a selection of 10 and that is what we did - there have been some promising performances from Brits so far - it does feel like we could have more Brits really contributing in D1 this season than ever before (as opposed to seeing very limited minutes). Check the list and let me know your thoughts!

πŸ”₯ Kofi Josephs dropped a BBL-record 46

It's rare we see huge scoring outbursts in the BBL, let alone from a Brit, so Kofi Josephs needs his flowers on this even, even in an OT loss. Going 15 of 26 from the field, 11 of 11 at the line, adding 8 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. his 46-point outing is the most in BBL history by a British born player and is the kind of story you'd think the BBL would/should be all over - but not a whole lot content-wise around it. Gotta do a better job with our story-telling!

That wraps up another week, as always hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!

With gratitude,

Sam
