3-Point Thursday #299

Nov 10, 2022 2:56 pm

Hey,

Finally starting to get a (very) little breathing room out here - events delivered over October and now the focus is on the two NCAA Division 1 college events coming to London at end of this month (London Basketball Classic end of Nov, BHOF London Showcase start of Dec - plus High School tournament coming with it) and beginning planning/prep for next summer!

Anywayyyy, this week's 3-pointer:

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Brits in College List Out

It's that time of year again (already!), for our annual tracker of British basketball players in the US college system - find the men's list here and the women's list here. Please let me know if we're missing anybody!

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ GB prepare for must-win games in WC qualifiers

The GB Senior Men (24-man squad here) are currently in training camp ahead of their must-win games against Serbia and Latvia on Friday and Monday, if they want to retain a shot of qualifying for the World Cup. Got the chance to catch up with Head Coach Marc Steutel on Wednesday, who not only is coming across positive despite their 1-5 record, has got two new assistants on his staff, and is super impressed with 19-year old Quinn Ellis. Watch the games live on Courtside 1891 β€“ use code HOOPS-WC for 15% discount on annual and World Cup bundle passes. (Also -it shouldn't be news, but positive to see all GB age group teams have been entered into next summer's Euros).

🦁 Lions women make it two successive wins in Europe

London Lions made it successive wins in EuroCup Women action as they defeated Dinamo Sassari 63-73 on the road, behind 29 points from Kiki Herbert-Harrigan. The men meanwhile, have fallen to 1-3 after a 76-87 loss to Buducnost VOLI Podgorica at Wembley Arena.

That wraps up another drop, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!

With gratitude,

Sam
