3-Point Thursday #350
Mar 28, 2024 11:11 am
Hey,
Recovering after a late return from Manchester last night (more on that below), but looking forward to being able to stay in the capital tomorrow night for Lions' huge game against Paris in the EuroCup semis after a tough loss in Game 1.
This week's 3-pointer:
💫 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic returns for its 10th year
We're back and it has been a whole decade! Mad. Year 1 with 300 people in a tiny gym in West London, to Year 10 at Crystal Palace with (hopefully) 1700. That that will only happen if you buy a ticket though - get yours now; early bird pricing is 20% off and for limited time only. Massive thanks to Jordan, Molten, 5or6 and Sportserve for once again helping us make it happen...let's see what we can do. Check out the history over the event at hoopsfixallstarclassic.com.
🏆 Academy league seasons come to close in Manchester
I was in Manchester all day yesterday for the culmination of the EABL, WEABL and CBL seasons. Charnwood held off a late rally from CoLA to take the EABL title, CoLA came from behind to win their fourth consecutive WEABL title over Copleston, while St Aloysius completed an undefeated season to take the CBL title. I've commented on it many times before so won't bore you, but the academy leagues are not what they were...
🏀 British Basketball League playoff final fast approaching (ad)
We're in the final push of the pro season as it will all go down at the O2 on May 19th with British Basketball League Playoff Finals taking centre stage. It's a chance to witness the top two teams in the country fight for the title; will London Lions retain their silverware or is another upset pending? Get your tickets now and see you there!
That wraps up another drop, as always hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!
With gratitude,
Sam
P.S. In another news, Spaniard Anna Montanana has been named GB Women's Head Coach, while Nedas Cholevinskas is enjoying his transition into the BBL.
