Greetings,

Wow, how are we to August already!? Hope you have been enjoying various blooms & pollinators in your gardens!

Some of my favorite things to watch right now are the monarchs on the Meadow Blazing Star, observing the Blunt Mountain Mint to see how many different pollinators are on it, searching the Spice Bush for folded over leaves w/ caterpillars hiding inside, and enjoying seeing flower stalks bouncing from the goldfinches snagging seeds.

Today, I wanted to share another very interesting creature you may see, depending on your location...the Saddleback Caterpillar. If you see this guy, you won't soon forget it...it is definitely a site!! And, if you are unfortunate enough to accidently contact one, you won't soon forget the sting from it!
