I look forward to seeing you at tomorrow's member meeting at 7:30 AM. We will be celebrating the opening of the ice cream parlor at Main Street Sweets! We always want to celebrate our members, and this month offers much to celebrate! Gruetzmacher's Funeral Home had their Open House for their Gillett location in the old Kuehl Funeral Home, and they have done a fantastic job in really sprucing up the building inside and out! What an asset to the community! We look forward to tomorrow, as Pete has been busy preparing a new space within his store to visit and enjoy some wonderful ice cream! It is great to see the work that he has put into that space and has given us a great place for a wonderful treat. He has a great assortment of specialty candies as well as the classic favorites. Oh, and if you like chocolate, check out his Chocolate counter filled with wonderful treats made by Door County Chocolates. Another great business is the expansion of La Mexicana with their new restaurant, Taco Fiesta, located on the corner of E Main Street and McKenzie.
There is a lot that is going on in our community, and we will keep you posted on the construction that is supposed to begin in October. Over the next couple of months, we will be working through upgrades on our city sewer and water on Hwy 22 as we prepare for the state work beginning in Spring 2026. We know it will be a little inconvenient for a time, but when we have the new roadway, think of the opportunities!
For all of us in the community, I want us to think about the assets we have in this community and what is coming, and I hope it excites you as much as it does me! How can the fact that we are a Trail Head benefit your business, and how can we capitalize on that asset? Let's think together, and let's get excited for the future of Gillett!
