💪 Are you mismanaging your superstar employee?

You don’t have to do all the work yourself.

(And I’m not talking about getting a coach. Or Ozempic.)

Everyone has access to a workhorse.

The most reliable worker you’ll ever have.

They don’t miss days.

They don’t half-arse it.

They’ll work for you until the day you die.

There’s just one condition.

Every day, you have to meet the workhorse.

You’ve got to show up. Give it a little attention. Tell it what to do.

Push it gently in the right direction.

Because if you don’t…

The bastard will still work, just against you.

The fence it was helping you build yesterday?

Today it’s pulling the thing down plank by plank.

But the best part is some days, meeting the workhorse takes seconds.

Not hours. No smell of manure. No sweltering sun.

See, the workhorse is time.

Most people think progress requires struggle.

They try to cram everything into a day.

Or sign up for a “30-day shred.”

They cut out their favourite foods.

Sweat their balls off on a rowing machine.

Cheers their mates with sparkling water while dying on the inside craving an ice-cold Stone & Wood.

Bit of a grim way to spend time if you ask me.

Those people aren’t leveraging their workhorse.

They could be making a tiny step that feels almost too easy to count.

Skipping the post-dinner snack that’s habit, not hunger.

A 10-minute walk after work.

Five minutes of squats and push-ups on the living room floor.

That’s you meeting the workhorse.

Pointing it in the right direction.

Do that, day after day, and you don’t have to force results.

You just let time do the work.

– Matt

P.S. I’ve moved email platforms, so this might look a little different. It's still just me, sending the same weekly health + performance notes. But if it’s not for you anymore, feel free to unsubscribe below.
