Hi All!
A quick note to let you know that -ette Issue 6: "Roulette" is now live!
Featuring work by:
Laura Cronk, Jose Hernandez Diaz, Suzy Eynon, Rachel Kowalsky, Matt Leibel, and Emma Raimondo
We hope you’ll enjoy these writers' various spins on the “roulette” theme (games, circularity, chance...).
This issue also features a very fancy and very fun roulette wheel designed by -ette co-editor & illustrator, Beth Hahn. Click through and give it a whirl!
The sixth episode, entitled "Take a Chance on Art," of -ette’s companion podcast, pod-ette, is live now too:
If you enjoy pod-ette, please help us spread the word by subscribing and sharing with your friends!
Pod-ette host, Melanie Hoopes, gives a prescription for these preposterous times: a heavy dose of art (among other things). She talks with writer/pediatric ER doctor, Rachel Kowalsky (“Dear Dolores”), and Matt Leibel (“How to Buy a Snow Globe”) about work that has recently reconfigured them. Original music is by Chester Jankowski.
In other news:
• We're open for submissions to Issue 7 (unthemed) until November 27 (full details here: Submit)
• Beth's novel, THE CITY BENEATH HER, which Library Journal calls "a fiercely feminist take on noir for readers enamored with Dorothy B. Hughes and Patricia Highsmith" is now available from Regal House https://regal-house-publishing.mybigcommerce.com/the-city-beneath-her/
Warmly,
Nora Maynard
