Hi Everyone,

-ette 8 is now live and it's raining cats and dogs! While this summer issue is officially unthemed, it features storm clouds, falling skies--and some memorable feline and canine characters--as well as a mythic journey, and some green valleys/mountain peaks.

In other news,

• Jose Hernandez Diaz's "The Search" and Matt Leibel's "How to Buy a Snow Globe" are now available in print as part of Best Microfiction 2026 (selected by Diane Seuss). Both are from our Fall 2025: Roulette issue.

• Lucy Zhang's, "Layered House," which first appeared in our Winter 2024: Cassette issue, is now available in print as part of Best Small Fictions 2025.

• Two stories from -ette made the Wigleaf Top 50 2026 Longlist. Congratulations to Jessica Barlevi ("Forest of Light," Spring 2025) and Tricia Knoll ("The Only Explanation," Winter 2025)!
