Do you use a tracker - like a FITBIT, Apple Watch or your phone for steps?
Research shows that trackers help us stay on track :-) You will often hear me say at the start of a class - unless I have hit my Apple Watch setting, it doesn't count. Today, I went for a walk with a Healthy Sixer, and we did 1.7 Km....which of course meant we had ot hit 2K. I want to walk more because walking improves our health but i will tell you this - I have to be mindful about walking, otherwise I sit at my computer all day and it hits 5 PM
When I launched the FITFAM in the pandemic, the key point for me was to provide routine: structured classes, you could do anytime, to make sure we stayed physically and mentally sane :-)
Is it hard to get up at 6 everyday, meditate and go downstairs for mobility and heart-pumping exercise at 6:30? Sometimes. But it is also my routine.
The point is this:
Find your routine.
It isn't mine - it is yours, individual to you.
The research shows you might burn more fat in the am, but you might hit a workout harder in the evening with more calories on board from the day.
My key tip is: Find whatever is going to be CONSISTENT for you
Be mindful of when you can sneak in extra movement.
Make exercise the thing you crave when you don't do it.
