Last night's webinar was chock-full of information
Some key takeaways
- One of the best things you can eat for your gut is lentils! So yes, my lovers of the Carrot Lentil Soup, we are onto something The gut-mind connection is largely mitigated by how the gut microbiome is talking to the brain. Lentils provided one of the healthiest sources of fibre, with added protein, that changes our gut microbiome. I am now hunting more lentil recipes!
- Your anxiety could be a cause of low levels of mageesium, Omega 3s and Vitamin Bs - Krista offers a 3-session package (details below) and I, for one, am considering it!
- Foods for mental health: Protein, Healthy Fats and Fibre.

Let's talk about SPRING TRAINING!
I want you to focus on what matters to you this spring - if that is reducing bloating and leaning into protein, fibre and healthy fat....amazing. But, I would be lying if I didn't say I wanted you to embrace strength training
Why?
This is the single most important thing we can do for longevity. I was on a work-related webinar today and took copious notes to share with you:
Condensed Version of Matrix Webinar: Muscle Matters
- By 50 - we are losing 1-3% of muscle mass each decade
- Muscle helps us regulate our blood sugar
- 80% of the sugars in your blood stream get absorbed by skeletal muscle
- Muscle is the MOST IMPORTANT THING to battle metabolic disease and help with weight loss
- Muscles pull on your bones - resistance training signals your bones to stay stronger.
- Muscles at the cellular level - slow our epigenetic age
- Exercise changes the genes that keep us healthy
- We can literally turn back the clock on cell function
- A study looked at a group of 70 year-old men and had them strength train twice a week for six month. After six month improved strength by 50%!
- Muscle protects us
- We are never too old to strength train.
I have included our 20-minute workout for this week, and a 10 minute FLOW.
Because....why not?
What's everyone cooking tonight? I am whipping some DAAL up for sure!
QUICK AND EASY DAAL!
Honey Mustard Chicken and Broccoli
10 MINUTE FLOW
25 MINUTE STRONG (DO PUSHUPS!!!)
Tomorrow we are diving into sleep.....
And my humility moment on how I need to change....
Stay tuned.
