I mentioned in a recent newsletter that I had driven a mobile home from Adelaide to Alice Springs, the location of the Red Centre Series. It is also a town where I lived and worked for seven years, so this was a wander down memory lane for me. Much had changed, but the dramatic landscape was the same.

My first book, The Red Heart, being book 1 of the series, is still my most popular book. To commemorate my return journey, and the stories that originated there, The Red Heart is available at the discount price of $0.99 from 22 - 27 August 2025.

Skywalkers

Last newsletter, Skywalkers was on offer to subscribers only for free. Quite a few readers took advantage of that offer, and if you have read the book, you will know that Riley lives in a rooftop caretaker flat above the city of Adelaide. Many of the other characters likewise have highrise and unorthodox living arrangements.

When I lived and worked in Melbourne, my office over-looked this building with a caretaker's apartment on the rooftop. Skywalkers was partially drafted, and I was amused to see that this living arrangement still existed on the rooftop of an older building.
