Connection and Your Immune System

Mar 21, 2020 3:49 am

You know what you know.

Like social distancing is the name of the game right now.

You know what you don't know.

Like exactly how long this will last.

Then there's what we don't know that we don't know.

Like social connection strengthens our immune system!

Even socially-distant forms.

FaceTime.

Dr. Steven W. Cole's research focuses on the biological pathways by which social environments influence gene expression by immune cell genomes, as well as viral and cancer genomes.

Cole showed that loneliness leads to fight-or-flight stress signaling.

This results in increased immature monocyte production, up-regulation of inflammatory genes and down-regulation of antiviral responses.

Deep connection: Less inflammation and more antiviral response!

Not mention it helps relieve harmful levels of stress, which can adversely affect coronary arteries, gut function, and insulin regulation.

Translation: Connection will help everyone right now.

Your family.

Your friends.

All your relationships.

You can bring priceless value to your relationships.

By letting them know you're there for them.

No matter what.

Create far more stong connection than you ever did in the past.

Make your greatest progress connecting as a human being.

Today.

Every 24 hours

Focus on how strong your connections can be.

Get creative.

Make daily progress.

Even more important during social distancing.

Connection is now and always the best medicine.

Share the daily dose with someone you love.
