As I wait for the edits of That Woman on Thistledown Lane to pop into my inbox, I've been tweaking the outline for Book #2 which comes your way in February. A fun aspect about writing a series is revisiting characters in subsequent books. That's why keeping a series bible is important. I can open up this handy dandy guide if I'm not sure Janie Wendell had brown or green eyes in the first book, or if I named Mark Christie's mom Muriel or Maureen. A good editor will catch these mistakes if they happen to slip by me, but I'd rather try to get it right myself first.
Of course what accuracy the series bible affords me is sometimes undone by the autocorrect function. Immediately after sending off the manuscript for editing early Saturday morning, I noticed the name Adelia autocorrected to Amelia. Arrgghh! Some Amelias survived though⏤go figure! Thankfully, the Amelia Adelia character appears in only a few chapters.
