It seems I've spent most of the month so far holed up in hotel rooms getting this book ready for release. This week I'm looking at the Pittsburgh skyline while my husband and son are conferencing. A few things I've learned about the city in my walks around town (I can't work all the time!).
- Fred "Mr. Rogers" McFeely Rogers was born near here and lived his whole life in the area.
- Pittsburgh is a very walkable city.
- There were 119 U.F.O. sightings within the city limits between 1910 and 2014.
- They love their coffee shops here. I've tried several and so far my favorite is Rock n' Joe Coffee on Penn.
- Pittsburgh is known for pierogis, or stuffed dumplings. To honor this doughy delicacy, the Pittsburgh Pirates feature giant pierogis mascots racing around the bases at their home baseball games. There used to be seven pierogis until Pizza Penny and Potato Pete eloped and moved to Naples, Italy.
Who knew? Don't you want to visit Pittsburgh now?
So, where am I at in the release process for That Woman on Thistledown Lane? Formatting is next on the list before it goes out to early readers. In my newsletter next Monday, I'll share the first chapter before the official release day on Tuesday⏤WOOHOO!
