April 2, 2025
Is it seriously April already? It seems like I was just pulling Christmas gifts out of my closet to wrap.
It was a sweet surprise to come back to central Illinois from our Texas trip last week and see the spring bulbs blooming. Everything in Texas was green which I'm sure was welcomed down there, considering the drought conditions they've suffered through. A decent rain dampened our plans the last two days of our vacation but I know Texans were thankful, so it was hard not to share in their joy.
We filled even the rainy days with so much. Since our daughter, son-in-law and grand girls were along too, much of our activities were kid-centered (so much fun!) We visited the Thinkery Kid's Museum in Austin, swam in our hotel's rooftop pool, boated, hiked, and did crafts during the inside days.
(Photos, top left to right: our youngest son lives in Austin, so the grand girls were excited to spend time with their uncle; ready for boating; reading at Book People in Austin; a bucket of donuts at the Magnolia food court; too cool for Texas.)
PAPERBACK SALE
Authors from the three seasons of the Coffee Loft series have come together to organize a PAPERBACK SALE. Books will be shipped directly from the authors signed, and some come with special Coffee Loft swag.
I've included A CAFE AU LAIT KIND OF LOVE in this. You'll get some CL stickers and/or coasters, depending on demand (I have a limited supply), as well as a coffee-inspired, handmade bookmark! See the books offered here.
Also, THANK YOU to those who voted for LOCKED ON LOVE'S LANDING for a Swoony Award! Before last week I was sitting at an obscure #101, but you pushed me to #36. Nominations don't close until November so more books will be joining the 200+ titles already listed, but it's nice to be recognized just the same. You can see the titles here and vote if you haven't already.

While we vacationed in Texas this last week, I picked up the third book in the Rebecca Yarros series, as well as The Sun is Also a Compass for my traveling, Alaska-loving hubby. We happened upon the very charming Fabled Bookstore in Waco, too, which was a couple blocks away from Magnolia. Their children's room was adorable. I could have spent hours in that shop! Have you been there?
