We’re on the home stretch of our two-week trip to Portland/Wyoming/Utah. At the moment, I’m sitting alone in a rental truck on a dirt road, staring at a mountain. There’s a herd of Angus off to my right and a storm blowing into the valley on my left. My husband is somewhere out there; his green reflective vest disappeared a half hour ago. Admittedly, I’m not the best “field assistant” to take on these backroads while he collects rock samples for a National Science Foundation grant. I’m good for the first fifteen minutes after we turn off the paved road. But when things start flying around inside the truck’s cab because the “road” has turned into a cobble-strewn ATV trail across a cow pasture, my patience disappears. Looking on the bright side though⏤I’ve opened my laptop to write this letter. I'll probably never again be able to say I wrote a newsletter in a cow pasture.
(From upper left to bottom right: 1. writing on the road looks like this; 2. autumn in the Pacific Northwest at my feet; 3. snow in the canyon at Cedar Breaks, UT; 4. cheery flowers from the gardens at Vancouver Nat'l Historic Site, WA; 5. Brian's Head, UT; 6. coffee! Need I say more?
I’ve also turned in final edits of A Forever Kiss in Silver Leaf Falls over the weekend - YAY! This novella was so much fun to write, a large part of the enjoyment coming from collaborating with the other five authors on this series. I can’t wait to share Andi and Reese’s story with you. It releases November 19th. You can check out each of the six books on the series page here. Three have released already. Kaci Lane's A Perfect Match in Silver Leaf Falls comes out October 29th.

Who Wants a Slice of Lemon Pie?
I wish we could get together and talk about books over a slice of pie and coffee (or your beverage of choice). Wouldn't that be fun? But maybe you'll settle for a chance at winning one of FIVE e-copies of Love, Lies and Lemon Pie instead? Just reply to this e-mail and say "I'm In!" or something to that effect by Sunday 10/24/21 at 11:59 p.m. I'll choose five winners using Random Number Generator and notify winners by e-mail on Monday. Sorry, non-U.S. subscribers. I can only send e-copies to U.S. residents. If an international winner is chosen, you'll receive an Amazon gift card for the equivalent amount of an e-book. Good luck!
