October 6, 2021
It's hard to believe we're now in the last quarter of this year! While 2020 seemed to last forever, 2021 has whipped by like scenery on the interstate for me.
I'll be seeing a lot of the interstate in a few days. I'm tagging along on my husband's trip to a conference in Portland, then we'll swing by Utah to scout some rocks my husband needs for a grant he's working on (hubby's a geologist in case you've missed me talk about him previously). It's a longer trip than I'd like to take at this time of the year, but I'm sure fall will be in all its glory in the places we'll travel through. I love driving. I much prefer it to flying. I'm just praying the routes we take through Utah won't lead us to any of those steep, sketchy roads I'm not crazy about. On my last trip to Utah, we found ourselves quite by accident on the steepest, most frightening unpaved road. It still gives me shivers to think about it. If you're not a fan of heights, don't ever go anywhere near Moki Dugway just north of Mexican Hat!
