Fall just makes me want to get and the car and go!
I want to see the trees on fire with color. Visit the apple farms. Stop at the pumpkin stands and buy a few more since the squirrels and raccoons treat mine as their own personal buffet.
Last weekend, we visited our favorite apple farm, Tanner's Orchard. My daughter's family joined my husband and me for a Saturday afternoon, and boy, was it madness! Everyone in central Illinois was there; we'd never seen it so busy! The grand girls got their faces painted, rode the ponies, and feed the goats. We loaded up on apples, cider, donuts, and pumpkin bars. It was so busy we forgot to take our traditional photos of the girls surrounded by pumpkins and mums. No worries. Memories were made regardless.
Next weekend I'll be in Peru, IL at Writers at Westclox Book Fair, signing with over 30 other authors of all genres. This is a new venue for me so I'm not sure what to expect. But there will be pizza ~ that's always a plus! Peru has a charming, historic downtown area so I always look forward to a little sightseeing and shopping local. Local friends, will I see you there?
