Hi There, Dear Readers!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving last Thursday, and then...
Everyone descended on Chez Malone for our family Thanksgiving meal last week. Platters of turkey and ham were baked to perfection, the potatoes mashed into creamy goodness, casseroles browned and simmered and devoured with festive glee.
I started feeling off during dessert. My pumpkin layer bar heaped with clouds of whipped cream just didn't seem to be doing it for me, the first indication I was coming down with something. I never turn away dessert.
I went upstairs and crawled into bed before my family even left our house. Chills, aches, and intermittent nausea plagued me throughout the night. My daughter's family had been sick the week before, but I thought I was in the clear after a week and a half of staying healthy. Nope.
The next night, my sister texted me that her whole family (seven of them) had come down with it. Then our son checked in; the bug bit him, too. And my dad. Goodness.
Thankfully, whatever it was, moved on as quickly as it hit our household. We're all better now, and in the throes of decking the halls, listening to holiday music, and spreading Christmas cheer (instead of germs).

The whirlwind of promoting the oh-so-fun Coffee Loft series is behind me so I can now focus fully on writing Locked on Love's Landing (Port Chance #3) which comes out in February. I really enjoy overlapping characters from book to book, and in this case, series to series. I think I've mentioned Ginger from A Cafe Au Lait will make an appearance or two in Locked as Kit Wendell's friend. You'll also see Ginger's new mobile coffee truck tooling around Port Chance during one sweet scene near the end of the story. She's such a huge source of support to feisty Kit; I've been dying to write Kit's story since the Port Chance series came to life. I just didn't know where to fit it into the line up until last spring.
Meanwhile, I'm still getting some really fun reviews for A Cafe Au Lait Kind of Love, like this one:
