Hi There, Dear Readers!

I've been slowly hauling boxes out of the attic since last week to decorate for Christmas. As empty nesters, we don't have the luxury of corralling our kids to help decorate for the holidays anymore. The dog, he's not much of a help unless you count stealing ornaments off the table as I hang them on the tree. Hubby is still traveling, too, this time in Death Valley (he's on sabbatical this semester), so it's just me. The grocery story has been stocking eggnog for a few weeks, so drowning my misfortune with cups of sugar, cream and whipped eggs while I deck the halls is my modus operandi these days. Cheers!

I'm reading The Mighty Red by Louise Erdrich at the moment. After seeing a review about it in our local paper, I ordered the historical family saga through interlibrary loan and am really loving it so far. Also, I have a couple of books to recommend below from romance authors I love.

I fell in love with Courtney Walsh's writing when I read her A Cross Country Christmas a few years ago. I'm sure this one will be just as adorable.
