It seems like I just unpacked my suitcase and now I'm filling it again! It won't be for too long this time⏤only four days. Our youngest son is heading to Argentina in less than two weeks to visit his field area for graduate work. He won't be home for Thanksgiving, maybe even Christmas. So when he asked if we would visit Austin to see him before he leaves, we had to make it happen. Unfortunately, my husband can't go. He can't take off work this time. But I booked a flight for a quick visit, so I'm heading to Texas over the weekend. Salt Lick Barbecue is calling my name and I've always wanted to visit the town of Fredericksburg, so those are on our agenda for sure. There are no writing deadlines looming so I may not even bring my laptop.
In Silver Leaf Falls series news, it's ten days before A Forever Kiss in SLF releases. Do you have it on your Goodreads bookshelf?
Also, Finding Forever in Silver Leaf Falls (Book #2) will be on sale for $0.99 tomorrow (Thursday) through next Tuesday. There's no better time to visit Silver Leaf Falls if you haven't started the series yet!

I went to the most wondrous book sale over the weekend. The organization sponsoring it, Books to Benefit, forwards proceeds from their twice-yearly sales to literacy programs in our county. I've only ever donated books and not actually attended the sales. Big mistake! Even on the last day of the four-day sale there were so many books left over! Paperbacks were $0.25 and hardbacks (most new-looking!) were $1.00. I picked up some for myself and some for this Clean My Shelves Giveaway (which kind of defeats the purpose of thinning my collection, I know). Anyway, here's the scoop on entering this month's giveaway:
I've read Home Safe and A Cure for Dreams in this selection and can recommend both, and it looks like Mama and Peppa Pig give their approval for the Janet Daily title (actually I asked my grand girl to put them by the cover she thought was prettiest - ha!). I’ll pick TWO lucky winners from those who send me their choice by replying to this e-mail. Please take note: all of these are lovingly USED books. Sorry, non-US friends, I can only ship within the US. If by chance I choose someone outside the country, I’ll offer a $5 Amazon gift card instead.
The contest closes on Sunday night 11/14/21, at 7 p.m. CST. Winners will be notified on Monday via e-mail and have 48 hours to respond before another winner is chosen. Winners will also be announced in the next newsletter.
Finally, I have three new releases below to highlight this week⏤a romance, a romantic suspense, and a cozy mystery boxset (the stories have romantic subplots).
Happy Reading!
Dawn

"I loved the humor, the depth, and the holiday traditions. I loved how Jayne tends to go with the flow, but Ben plans, and comes through with exactly what she needs. They complete each other! The romance was so cute!" - Amazon review
