Hello Dear Readers!
I'm staring at the smallest pile of Halloween candy in the middle of the dining room table at the moment and I'm NOT complaining. We had a steady stream of trick-or-treaters Sunday night before we turned off our porch light. Then we headed over to the grandgirls' house to bring the leftover treats for their trick-or-treaters and see the girls in their costumes. If you're in my Facebook Reader group, you might remember me mentioning that I wanted to try something different this Halloween too. I'd seen a Little Free Library post about someone who planned to set out kids books for Halloween visitors along with candy. Since I have tubs of children's books in the attic, I handpicked 50+ picture books and chapter books and loaded them into two baskets. These I set out on a bench next to my door for kids to look through after they got their candy. Book-and-Treat was such a hit, I'll be giving away kids books next Halloween too.
In book news, A PERFECT MATCH IN SILVER LEAF FALLS has released! Author Kaci Lane wrote the sweetest novella about cake artist Chloe and her cowboy crush, Dax. It's Book #4 in the six-book series. WHAT I'M READING: I shared an Elana Johnson book with you a few weeks ago and that prompted me to pick up one of hers that I already had on my shelf. She writes women's fiction as Jessie Newton so I dove into The Lighthouse over the weekend. Have you read an Elana Johnson-Liz Isaacson-Jessie Newton novel?
