Hey ,
This might sound pessimistic at first, but hear me out.
Just because you won before… doesn’t mean you’ll win again.
I was watching a clip of Donald Trump where he said: “We won the first world war, we won the second world war.”
And it got me thinking, yes, those were wins. But those past victories don’t automatically guarantee future ones.
The same is true for life.
Just because you landed a great job last year doesn’t mean you’ll land one this year.
Just because your campaign went viral last month doesn’t mean the next one will.
Just because your business had a good quarter doesn’t mean the next will be the same.
Why?
Because winning doesn’t respond to past wins. Winning responds to principles.
You won before because you applied certain principles, discipline, consistency, sacrifice, faith, strategy.
Not because “you’ve always been a winner.”
And here’s where many of us get it wrong:
We over-celebrate yesterday’s wins so much that we forget the very principles that produced them.
Don’t get me wrong, celebrate your wins. You deserve it.
But don’t get carried away.
Scripture says: “Remember not the former things.”
Former things include both the good and the bad.
That means:
- Last year’s mistakes are behind you.
- Last year’s victories are also behind you.
Both are done. Both are former.
Today is new.
This month is fresh.
This situation is different.
The mindset that keeps you winning is simple:
Celebrate yesterday.
Learn from yesterday.
But don’t live in yesterday.
So let me ask you:
What principles are you carrying into this new month?
What disciplines are you holding on to?
What habits are you building right now that will carry you into your next win?
Because if you focus on the principles, the wins will follow.
Hit reply and share one principle you’re choosing to apply this month, I’d love to read from you.
Keep moving,
Darasimi
