Hey ,
We always think we’re prepared.
We always think we have a plan.
But when it’s time to execute, life has a way of throwing something at us that changes everything.
Here’s a backstory.
I work with an AI company based in the UK, and earlier this year we had planned to launch a big digital marketing campaign in September.
Everything was set.
The strategy was clear.
We were ready.
Then September came… and everything went downhill.
We started with Meta Ads, only for Meta to have a major breakdown. Our campaigns generated little to no results.
So, we pivoted to Google Ads and boom, another roadblock.
Three whole weeks of back and forth.
To management, it looked like we didn’t know what we were doing.
To us, it was one of the most frustrating stretches ever.
But here’s the twist.
In those three weeks, the most difficult I’ve ever had in my five years of marketing, I learned lessons I never could have learned from any course or training.
And it hit me: adversity has a way of teaching us what comfort never will.
Most of us, when we face tough times, stay stuck in:
- Self-pity
- Frustration
- Anger at the challenge
But here’s the truth:
Challenges carry lessons.
Mistakes carry wisdom.
Frustration carries clarity, if you let it.
What I took away from those three weeks has made me a better marketer, a better problem solver, and honestly, a stronger person.
So here’s my encouragement to you:
Next time you face a challenge, don’t just wallow in self-pity. Don’t stay angry. Don’t get stuck.
Look for the lesson.
Find the silver lining.
And take away what comfort could never have taught you.
Think about this:
What’s one lesson you’ve learned recently from a challenge that no book or course could have taught you?
Hit reply, I’d love to read it.
