Hi ,
One of the worst things you can do to yourself on this journey is let offense stay in your heart.
I know that sounds simple. Maybe even obvious. But I'm telling you, it will weigh you down in ways you won't immediately recognize. You'll wonder why you're not making progress, why everything feels harder than it should, why you're stuck.
And sometimes, the answer isn't that you're not working hard enough. It's that you're carrying something you were never meant to hold onto.
I'm not saying people won't hurt you. They will.
I'm not saying you should let people take you for granted. You shouldn't.
But here's the truth: you cannot avoid offense in life. You can only choose whether or not to hold onto it.
People with good intentions will offend you. People with bad intentions definitely will. People who love you will say the wrong thing. People who don't even think about you will do something that cuts deep.
It's part of life. It's part of being human.
But that doesn't mean you have to carry it.
Every morning when I pray, I say the same thing: "Lord, help my heart."
Because I've learned that my heart is where the weight builds. It's where I hold grudges I don't even realize I'm holding. It's where I replay conversations, nurse wounds, and let things fester that should've been released a long time ago.
Your heart wasn't designed to be a storage room for every hurt. Guard it. Protect it. But also release what doesn't belong there.
You don't have to forget what happened. You don't have to pretend it didn't hurt.
But you do have to decide that you're not going to let it define your next step.
So here's my challenge for you: start praying it daily.
"Help my heart."
"Keep my heart clear."
"Don't let me carry what I need to release."
Because the lighter your heart, the faster you can move. And you've got too much ahead of you to be slowed down by what's already behind you.
Keep growing,
Darasimi
