Law 3 for 2026: Stop fighting yesterday
Dec 17, 2025 7:01 am
Hi ,
This is Law 3 in the 17 laws I believe can help anyone thrive in 2026 and beyond.
It is a simple one, but many people still struggle with it.
You cannot change the past.
You can only influence the future.
Yesterday has happened.
Today is already happening.
Tomorrow is what you still have power over.
And yet, so many people are emotionally stuck in what has already passed.
Now let me be clear. The past is not useless. The past is valuable. There are lessons in it. There is information in it. There is insight in it. But the past is a place to learn from, not a place to live in.
Once something has happened, you cannot edit it. You cannot rewrite it. You cannot undo it. What you can do is extract wisdom from it and move forward better.
The moment you become aware of a mistake, a flaw, a weakness, or a wrong decision from your past, your responsibility is not to dwell on it. Your responsibility is to learn from it.
Dwelling does not fix anything.
Learning does.
This is something marketing taught me very clearly.
When you run a campaign and it flops, you don’t sit down crying about how bad the campaign was. You look at the data. You ask questions. You find out what didn’t work. Then you use that information to create a better campaign next time.
That is maturity.
Life works the same way.
Your past choices are data.
Your experiences are data.
Your failures are data.
But data is useless if you only stare at it and feel bad. Data is meant to inform your next move.
You don’t change your future by regretting yesterday.
You change your future by making better choices today.
If you want a different tomorrow, adjust what you are doing now.
If you want a better outcome, take better decisions in the present.
So yes, acknowledge your past.
Yes, study it.
Yes, learn from it.
But do not build a home there.
Your power is not in what has happened.
Your power is in what you choose to do next.
This is Law 3.
See you tomorrow.
Your Fave,
Darasimi
