Hey ,
Yesterday I shared the first question I ask before making big decisions:
“Does this move align with the person I am trying to become?”
Today, here is the second question.
Question 2: What will this decision cost me?
Every decision carries a cost.
Time.
Energy.
Focus.
Peace.
Relationships.
Opportunities you will have to say no to.
The problem is that most people only look at the benefits of a decision and ignore the costs attached to it.
A new job might pay more money, but what will it cost you in time and stress?
A business opportunity might look attractive, but what will it cost your focus and current priorities?
A relationship might feel exciting, but what will it cost your peace or your values?
Nothing in life is free.
Every yes automatically creates a no somewhere else.
If you say yes to one path, you are closing another.
If you say yes to a new commitment, something else will lose your attention.
Wise decisions are not just about what you gain.
They are also about what you are willing to pay for.
Sometimes the opportunity is good.
But the cost is too high.
And maturity is being able to say:
“This is good, but it is not worth the price for my life right now.”
When you start thinking this way, you become much more careful with your decisions.
Because you are no longer asking only,
“What do I gain?”
You are also asking,
“What am I giving up?”
Tomorrow, I’ll share the third and final question I ask before making big decisions.
Your Fave,
Darasimi
