Hey

My client said he felt burnt out when he started to work with me, so we did this…

It can be easy to think that you always have to do more to progress. In some cases, this might be true but more isn’t always good if that time is not structured right.

A lot of the time it can be easy to get caught up in what others are doing around you without any consideration for yourself.

That is why, when my client Benn started working with me we took a closer look at his training and lifestyle.

Having a demanding job on top of family and cycling was a lot each week. While taking a closer look I saw that his fitness was improving but the red flag was his fatigue score.

He was not cycling too much, just cycling too hard.

Each session was a hard Zwift race or effort and this left him tired come his weekend rides plus feeling fatigued all day. Making it a challenge for him to be productive at his job and too tired at home.

So, we changed everything around and structured in more zone 2 sessions and rest while focusing on the long-term goal.

To feel healthier, more energised and fit. Not just to cycle faster.

By changing his shift to focusing on steady consistent progress, his fatigue score has come down and on top of this, his nutritional habits are improving due to not being as tired and maybe grabbing snacks to compensate.

As a result, building a long-term solution to improving his health and well-being to last a lifetime.
