“What are you training for”

Hey

“Neil, what are you training for” I was asked by a friend at the weekend.

And this wasn’t the first time either this summer. Why?

.

Because this year I have been riding the strongest since 2019.

That year I was training for two Ironman 70.3 triathlons and the Etape.

This year, my only goal was the Dragon Ride Wales in June.

But, unlike 2019, once the events were over I did something totally different.

I continued to train as consistently as I have been all year.

Why? If you haven’t got another event in mind then why bother you might think.

My answer, so I am always ready!

So I can maintain and slowly build on my fitness from the previous year.

So when the time comes that I find an event that I want to sign up for, I am ready.

There will be no starting at the bottom again and working hard to get my fitness back.

There will be no dieting to try and shift those extra pounds I put on while taking it easy.

All that will be asked of me is to shift my training from a maintenance phase to a race-specific phase.

One that will make sure I am in peak condition to complete the event and enjoy it.

So that is what I am training for.

Why make life harder than it has to be and only commit to a 12-week training plan that you can do for a short period but as soon as life gets busy again, everything falls by the waist side?

That is why when working with my clients we build a programme that manages fatigue and helps them understand that by doing less but more consistently you can achieve the results you’re aiming for.

Results that will continue long after you have worked with me, and most importantly you will learn how to maintain them.

So, if you are looking to build lasting changes to your lifestyle you can feel always ready.

Plus, I want a taster of what it will be like working with me 1-2-1.

I have launched “The Cycle Lean Project”

A 10-week winter training programme to help you cycle leaner, faster and recover quicker. So you are one step ahead of everyone come springtime.

The programme starts on Monday 2nd October.

We will guide and support you to cycle leaner, faster and recover quicker. Learn more by clicking the link below!
