What I discovered during two health assessments last week shocked me

Last week, I met with two patients who were taking GLP-1 medication for weight loss.

On the surface, their results looked impressive.

One had lost around 8kg over the past year.

The other? Close to 30kg.

Great results, right?

Here's where it gets concerning.

When I asked about the support they were receiving alongside the medication, I was genuinely shocked at what I found.

Or rather, what I didn't find.

Neither of them had any nutritional support.

Neither had any lifestyle coaching.

Neither had any guidance around exercise, muscle building, or long-term weight maintenance.

The only support they were receiving was from their GP around dosing.

If they felt unwell, the dose was reduced.

If weight loss slowed, the dose was increased.

But for everything else, their food choices, their relationship with eating, their exercise habits, they were basically left to figure it all out on their own.

No help understanding calories.

No support for preparing for life after the medication.

No guidance on how to build muscle to protect long-term health.

And when you consider this is costing people £150–£300 per month, that's pretty alarming.

Here's what really troubles me about this picture.

When something costs patients hundreds of pounds a month, yet costs only a few pounds to produce, it becomes very clear who's really winning.

And it isn't the patient.

Especially when many people regain significant weight once they come off the drug, sometimes even more than they originally lost, unless they've changed the habits that caused the weight gain in the first place.

I get that businesses need to make money, and that's not the problem.

What does concern me, though, is when they do that without providing proper support or education.

To me, that feels unethical.

That's where coaches like me come in.

People who actually care about people.

Yes, I run a business. I need to pay my bills.

But that's not what gets me out of bed in the morning.

What drives me is helping people live healthier, happier lives, and empowering them with skills they can use for the rest of their lives, not just while they're taking something.

That's why every client I work with gets real support.

Whether it's group coaching or 1-to-1, I'm there to guide nutrition, training, mindset, and lifestyle, and to help clients through challenges as they come up.

I even had a former client reach out recently just to say thank you after working together for four months. That means more to me than any metric ever could.

When you consider my coaching costs £197 per month, less than most GLP-1 prescriptions, and offers 100% more support around nutrition, exercise, and mental wellbeing, I honestly struggle to see how medication alone is the better option.

I get why it's tempting. You don't have to do the work.

But with coaching, you do, and in return, you gain control, confidence, and long-term freedom rather than becoming dependent on a jab.

So if you're ready to stop looking for shortcuts and start investing properly in your health, for now and the future, let's have a chat.

I'm here when you are.
