How Cycling Became My Daily Meditation

Hey

I've been pondering on something lately. Something deeply connected to my daily existence, not just a fleeting whim. It started out as a quest to calm my mind, to find a sliver of peace amidst the chaos of our world.

During those long weeks of lockdown, I found solace in meditation. Every morning, I would sit in silence, focused on quieting the storms that brewed in my mind. For 60 consecutive days, I made it a point to meditate, and I tell you, it was transformative.

But alas, the return to "normalcy" threw my routine into disarray. The meditation took a backseat, replaced by my other passions - cycling and training. And as my mind began to buzz with a million thoughts again, I knew I had to reclaim that serenity I had found in meditation.

So, I took the plunge. Yesterday, I sat down for my first 10-minute meditation in months, and let me tell you, it felt incredible. I've set myself the goal of 100 consecutive days of meditation. I'm sharing this with you to keep me accountable. I even posted it on my Instagram stories for an extra dose of responsibility.

I've been using Headspace for guided meditation and I find the daily themes particularly interesting. They offer a different perspective to mull over throughout the day. Today's theme struck a chord with me - "meditation as a life practice".

This got me thinking about cycling.

When I first started cycling, it was a hobby, an activity I enjoyed. But over time, it has woven itself into the fabric of my daily life. Much like meditation, cycling isn't just something I do; it's part of who I am.

Cycling is my daily dose of invigoration. It helps me navigate through life with ease, it fuels me with energy, and it connects me with a community of like-minded enthusiasts. But more than that, cycling is a form of therapy. It's my escape, my sanctuary.

When you view cycling not just as training for an event, but as an integral part of your existence, it transforms your life in ways you can't imagine.

This is where I can help.

With my one-to-one coaching, I guide cyclists like you to incorporate cycling into your daily life, not just as a hobby, but as a lifestyle. I offer personalized training plans tailored to your goals and current fitness level, focusing on quality instead of quantity.
