Don't waste your money on these 3 foods if you are trying to lose weight.


Protein Shakes


I have yet to see a study that shows anyone to be protein deficient (unless you are starving to death). Our body only needs about 1 gram per kg of body weight to get the nutrient requirements.


Adequate protein intake will help to reduce hunger and keep you feeling fuller for longer.


But you can get enough in your diet from nature rather than wasting your money on expensive, over-hyped protein supplements that just make you gassy due to the added artificial sweeteners.


Low-Fat foods


Filled with added sugar to make up for the lack of fat means you just eat more and potentially add more sugar to your diet. Not what you want if you are looking to eat healthier.


Take yoghurts for example. Yoghurt, in its natural form, is healthy when eaten in moderation. Many natural yoghurts are high in fat, but they are also rich in micronutrients and probiotic bacteria. These bacteria can boost your gut microbiome, which has widespread positive effects on overall health.


Fake food


If you are a vegan for whatever person reason, trying to get enough protein by eating fake meat or cheese is just an easy and convenient way of eating as a vegan.


But just because it is labelled as vegan doesn't mean it is healthy. Many of these fake foods contain a lot of added salt and more saturated fat than the actual real foods themselves.


Focus on adding more beans and pulses, nuts and seeds, along with smaller portions of meat and cheese. Focus on getting your daily protein requirements from nature itself. Along with the reduction in salt you will also be adding more fibre to your diet which is a win-win.
