Common Coaching Questions

Jun 07, 2024 8:11 am

Hey

Recently I have had a few questions from people interested in my coaching.

I like to be as upfront and transparent so while answering them, I thought it would be nice to share them with you too.

As I am sure they might be common questions everyone could benefit from getting the answers to.

Below is just a small selection of them and if you have any questions regarding my coaching services that you would like answered, please reply to this email and I will happily answer any questions you might have.

Common Coaching Questions

How can I pay? Visa, direct debit etc?

You can pay by Visa, debit or credit card. All is done through our Stripe account which provides a safe payment method.

Are there any payment plans?

We can discuss payment plans if you want to sign up for my one-to-one coaching. This can be paid in full, split payment or monthly.

The Cycle Lean Blueprint course and our group coaching are just a one-time payment or monthly subscription, with no contract.

Do you need to be a gym member? If not, what equipment would you need to get started?

No need to join a gym, all the land-based training can be done at home with just your body weight to begin with. You can progress to some light weights at home which would only require a set of kettlebells or dumbbells.

Access to a turbo trainer at home or in a gym is helpful but not essential to be able to do some of the cycling training sessions. But all can be done outside if needed. However, it can be more challenging with traffic and the terrain at times for example.

Not done any kind of structured training before, and I am a little anxious.

This is where I come in as a coach. I will guide you and monitor your training every week. You have weekly check-ins so I can understand how you are getting on, how you are feeling and if we need to make any adjustments,

The only thing you should be focused on each day is the workout you have been set. The rest you can leave to me. But with our regular check-ins and updates, by the time we have finished working together, you should have the tools and knowledge to manage your own training in the future.

I have Garmin now working on ROUVY. Can I use the ROUVY platform to do the training?

Yes, you can sync your training peaks workouts to Rouvy so you can train on the platform. Plus you can sync your workouts to your Garmin if you want to do the session outdoors as well. All workouts sync to Zwift to.

What is the difference between The Cycle Lean Blueprint Course and my one-to-one coaching?

The Cycle Lean Blueprint is a self-guided course. There is no coaching or support from me. You have to work through it on your own. Plus, the training plan is a basic template I created to accommodate as many people as possible. So apart from losing weight and getting fitter as a cyclist, it isn't tailored to any particular event or personal goal you might have.

Compared to my one-to-one coaching, each week and month of training is built around your needs and personal goals. So instead of you trying to fit in the training plan around your life, we build a training plan to fit your life. Making it easy for you to accommodate, removing the stress of trying to fit in all the training and making every session specific to your final outcome that we set together.

Plus, we have the flexibility to adapt and change any part of the plan at any stage. So if you are ill for a week or off on holiday, we plan around this so you reduce the risk of injury and burnout. Managing your fatigue so you can train consistently without the risk of a long spell off the bike.

How often would I need to train?

This is something we will discuss together based on your goal and availability. So as mentioned before, the training plan is built around you. Not you just trying to fit in the amount of hours prescribed ahead of time as in the cycle lean blueprint.

Could I be spending money and not achieving my goals?

A lot of resistance we have when signing up for anything new is out of fear of failing. And if you don't commit then it protects you from failing. But in reality, there never are any failures, just lessons.

The main denominator of whether you will succeed or not is YOU.

The outcomes you will achieve are down to you putting in the work and being fully committed.

I can promise you that I will give 100% commitment to help you achieve your goals. I pride myself on being the best coach I can be and helping my clients achieve their goals.

But my client testimonials all had the same thing in common. They were all 100% committed when working with me. They communicated well, they did every weekly check-in, and they did the sessions even if it meant getting up earlier before work or later after work.

Coaching is a two-way agreement. Your investment in me to guide you to your goals is also reliant on your own investment to be fully committed to the process.

If you are, then I can promise you won't be disappointed.

I hope this helps answer some questions you might have had regarding my coaching.

If you do have any more, please let me know.
