April Newsletter - Spring Cleaning
Apr 28, 2026 10:25 am
Hi !
April carries that unmistakable feeling of movement.
After the stillness of winter, there’s a natural pull to open windows, clear spaces, and let fresh air in. Not just in our homes, but within ourselves too.
This month, we’re exploring spring cleaning for the mind and body.
Not in a harsh, restrictive way, but as a gentle process of clearing what no longer serves, making space, and supporting the body’s natural ability to restore balance.
Because true “detox” isn’t about extremes.
It’s about supporting the systems that already do this beautifully, your gut, your liver, your nervous system.
🌿 Blog Post of the Month
Zinc and Selenium Deficiencies: Is Your Gut to Blame?
Sometimes the body whispers before it shouts.
Changes in hair, skin, nails, or immunity can seem small at first, easy to brush off or try to “fix” with supplements or quick solutions. But often, these signs point to something deeper.
This month’s blog explores how trace minerals like zinc and selenium are closely tied to gut health. When the digestive system isn’t functioning optimally, the body may struggle not just to absorb nutrients, but to use them effectively.
It’s a gentle reminder that nourishment isn’t only about what we eat, but about how well the body can receive it.
🎧 Podcast of the Month
Systems | Mick Mize & Diana Boskma
This conversation explores something we all live with, often without noticing: systems.
We talk about how systems can support us, bring structure, and make life smoother, but also how they can quietly limit us when they become rigid or unconscious.
It’s a thoughtful look at how we can work with systems, rather than be run by them.
🌿 Recipe of the Month
Spring Lamb & Herb Broth with Asparagus and Mint
A light yet deeply nourishing spring dish, bringing together seasonal ingredients with gut-supportive bone broth and fresh herbs.
Ingredients (serves 4):
- 500 g (1.1 lb) lamb shoulder or neck, diced
- 1 litre (1.75 pints / 4 cups) lamb or chicken bone broth
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut
- 1 small fennel bulb, thinly sliced
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp ghee or butter
- Handful fresh mint, chopped
- Handful fresh parsley
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Sea salt & black pepper
Method:
- Heat the ghee in a pot and brown the lamb pieces lightly.
- Add garlic, fennel, and spring onions, and sauté until soft.
- Pour in the bone broth and simmer gently for 45–60 minutes until the lamb is tender.
- Add asparagus in the final 5 minutes so it stays vibrant and fresh.
- Finish with lemon juice, herbs, salt, and pepper.
This dish supports digestion while bringing a fresh, uplifting energy to your plate.
📖 Book of the Month
The Hungry Ghost Bread Book
This is a book for those who appreciate both craft and nourishment.
It explores sourdough baking in a way that feels approachable yet deeply rooted in tradition. Fermentation, slow processes, and working with natural cultures all support not just flavour, but digestibility.
From loaves to flatbreads and crackers, it brings baking back to something tactile, intuitive, and connected, a beautiful reminder that food preparation itself can be part of supporting gut health.
🧘 Meditation of the Month
Drifting into Rest
Sometimes the body is ready to rest, but the mind hasn’t caught up yet.
This guided meditation helps you soften and unwind, guiding you into a state where rest can happen naturally. Whether you drift into sleep or simply allow your body to recharge, it offers a moment of deep restoration.
✨ Reflection for April
Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be forceful.
It can be quiet.
Letting go of thoughts that keep circling.
Stepping back from habits that drain more than they give.
Creating space, not because something is “wrong”, but because something new is ready to emerge.
The body often responds best not to intensity, but to consistency and gentleness.
🌙 Question of the Month
What feels ready to be cleared, softened, or released so I can create space for something new?
🌸 Curious about working with me?
If you’re longing for steadiness, deeper self-connection, or support in navigating your inner world, I’d love to meet you. Coaching offers a gentle, grounded, nourishing space where you can explore what’s going on beneath the surface.
You’re warmly invited to book a gifted conversation, a chance for us to talk, explore, and see what support would feel good for you.
🌸 Something New Is Here…
Over the past months, things have been quietly taking shape behind the scenes.
And now, for the first time, some of that work is ready to be shared.
I’ve created a couple of courses that are now available, currently in a text-based format, with worksheets and guidance you can move through at your own pace. Over time, I’ll be adding audio and video to deepen the experience, and as that happens, the investment will increase accordingly.
For now, you can step in at the beginning.
🌿 The Four Phases — £29
A guide for women to understanding your cyclical nature and working with your body rather than against it.
This course explores how your energy, mood, and needs shift throughout the month, and how aligning your nutrition and lifestyle with these phases can bring more ease and clarity.
🌿 Know Your Cycle, Know Your Body — £49
A deeper, 11-module fertility awareness course for women who want to truly understand their bodies.
Whether you’re looking to conceive, avoid pregnancy naturally, or simply feel more connected to your cycle, this offers both knowledge and empowerment.
These are not quick fixes.
They’re foundations.
And for those who feel called to begin now, you’re warmly welcome.
🌱 And Still in Progress…
Alongside these, there is something that has been growing for a long time.
A gut healing-focused programme, one that brings together everything around microbiome health, digestion, and rebuilding from the inside out. It’s not quite ready yet, but it is moving. Slowly, steadily, in the way that deeper work often does.
When you can't wait until it's ready, do let me know.
More will come, when it’s ready.
