Hi !

March carries a quiet shift.

The light begins to change. Mornings feel a little softer, a little brighter. There’s a sense that something is gently waking up, not rushed, not forced, just naturally unfolding.

This is where mindful eating becomes so powerful.

Not as a rule, or a discipline, but as a way of reconnecting. With your body. Your digestion. Your signals. Your rhythm.

This month, we’re exploring how bringing awareness back to our meals can support not only digestion, but also nutrient absorption, emotional balance, and the way we relate to food itself.

🌿 Blog Post of the Month

Gut Dysbiosis and Calcium Absorption: The Silent Risk to Your Bones

It’s easy to assume that bone health is simply about getting enough calcium.

But as this month’s blog explores, the real question is often not how much you consume, but how much your body is actually able to absorb and use.

When the gut is out of balance, even a diet rich in minerals and nourishing foods may not translate into strong bones. Calcium needs a healthy digestive environment, proper stomach acid, and a balanced microbiome to be absorbed effectively.

This article unpacks the often-overlooked connection between gut health and bone strength, and why supporting your digestion is a key part of long-term resilience.

🍲 Recipe of the Month

Spring Chicken Broth with Greens, Herbs & Soft Eggs

A gentle, nourishing dish that sits perfectly between winter and spring. Light enough to support digestion, yet rich in minerals, amino acids, and flavour.

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 1 litre (1.75 pints / 4 cups) homemade chicken bone broth
  • 2 carrots, finely sliced
  • 1 leek, thinly sliced
  • 1 small courgette, chopped
  • 2 handfuls fresh spinach or spring greens
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp butter or ghee
  • 4 eggs
  • Fresh parsley and dill, chopped
  • Sea salt & black pepper
  • Optional: squeeze of lemon juice

Method:

  1. Melt the butter in a pot and gently sauté the leek and garlic until soft.
  2. Add carrots and courgette and cook for a few minutes.
  3. Pour in the bone broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add greens and cook briefly until just wilted.
  5. In a separate pan, soft-boil the eggs (about 6 minutes), peel, and halve.
  6. Season the broth, ladle into bowls, and top with the eggs and fresh herbs.

This is a meal that invites you to slow down, taste, and truly receive your food.

📖 Book of the Month

Honest Nutrition — Ira Edwards

image

This book brings nutrition back to what it should be: simple, grounded, and honest.

Ira Edwards cuts through much of the confusion surrounding modern dietary advice and returns to the fundamentals of traditional, nutrient-dense eating. It emphasises whole foods, proper preparation methods, and listening to the body rather than chasing trends.

It’s especially valuable for those who feel overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition messages. The tone is practical and reassuring, reminding us that real nourishment doesn’t need to be complicated, it just needs to be consistent and rooted in what truly supports the body.

🧘 Meditation of the Month

When You're Irritable and Don’t Know Why

Irritability can appear out of nowhere and feel difficult to understand.

This meditation offers a gentle space to pause and turn towards that feeling with curiosity rather than judgement. Often, what we experience as irritation is simply the body asking for something, rest, nourishment, quiet, or care.

A beautiful practice for reconnecting with yourself when things feel slightly “off”.

✨ Reflection for March

Mindful eating isn’t about eating perfectly.

It’s about presence.

Noticing how your body feels before you eat.

Taking a breath before your first bite.

Allowing your body to register that it is safe, supported, and nourished.

Digestion begins long before food reaches the stomach. It starts with the nervous system.

When you slow down, even slightly, you change the entire experience of nourishment.

🌙 Question of the Month

What would change if I allowed myself to fully slow down and be present with just one meal each day?

No pressure to do it perfectly, just curiosity.

🌱 Something New Is Coming…

There has been a quiet shift behind the scenes.

One offering has now moved from being written… into being built. Sections are finding their place, and the structure is slowly becoming something tangible. It’s no longer just an idea, it’s beginning to exist.

Alongside that, other pieces are gently unfolding. Some are already taking form, others are still being shaped, tested, and refined. There’s a rhythm to it now, a process of creating, recording, adjusting, and allowing things to settle into the right space.

And then there are the projects that are growing more slowly. The ones that ask for patience. For depth. For time to get it right rather than just getting it done.

So for now, things are still mostly behind the curtain.

But they are moving.

And if you’ve been sensing that something is coming together, you’re not imagining it.

More, next month.
