Hope you're doing well and enjoying your summer!
I wanted to take this chance to introduce myself, as this is my first email to my readers. My name is Cate, though to my readers I'm C. L. West. You most likely joined this list when downloading my free meet-cute romance read Hearts On Track.
Without boring you to death, I'd love for you to get to know me and, if you are up for talking to a stranger on the internet, I really enjoy getting to know my readers as well.
Right now, I have two full length novels released under this--my Romance pen name. Though I also write YA fantasy under another name (but we don't need to get into those details.)
Romance is a new genre for me, both as a reader and a writer. And, strangely enough, this journey started for me at the same time my own love life was crumbling down.
My first book, Staged, saw me through the end of a five year relationship. It was a strange time to write a book, honestly--right after helping pack and move out the man I thought I'd spend forever with. And though things ended well, I wasn't sure I wanted to even think about love again, let alone spin and craft a story of romance.
Writing that book, though, was cathartic for me and the outpouring of love from readers I've never met was tremendous! It truly helped me in my healing and, since, has encouraged me to pursue writing more romance.
Now, two years later, I have found love again. Living in Kansas, I am falling a bit more each day for someone who truly supports me and understands me in a way I almost find disconcerting. We have six dogs, four horses, a cat, and six chickens.
But, I'll quiet down my rambling before this becomes my third full length novel...
I really hope this email list gets to be a journey and journal of the writing and romance, and that you're up for sticking around for it. I'm always open to conversations.
