This isn't easy for me to admit, but I've been struggling with life as an author.
Not simply with writers block, though that is always a plague in my day. Not only with imposter syndrome, though it's very real.
I've been struggling to get my books into more hands.
And it's driving me a little mad, honestly.
For quite a while, it felt as if readers were finding Ranger of Kings left and right. It was truly amazing to see reviews roll in, to have readers email me with their thoughts and feelings on the series, and to know that others were enjoying the tales of William, Colin, and Rowan. Honestly, it helped push me to make sure I got each story written and released on the days I struggled. Your support has been immense.
But...
Ever since the final installment in the William of Alamore series came out, it's as if reaching readers has become a thousand times harder. I'm not sure if this is the influx of AI books on platforms like Amazon (note: not bashing authors who opt for AI versus writing, it's just made me wonder if they are drowning my one-a-year slow written books) Or if this is because I updated my website, if it's due to my emails not being quite as entertaining as in past, or if, perhaps, advertising updates are simply getting the best of me.
So, instead of continuing to drive myself mad on all of this, I'm reaching out to you. I'm reaching out to ask how you are finding books to read of late, where you search for them, what blogs you might read to find new stories or what sites you browse for recommendations. Are there any avenues you recommend? How would you suggest an author like myself find a reader like you?
Thank you for reading this. I'm sorry it's not a cheery or entertaining email, perhaps. It's just something heavy on my mind of late.
All the best,
CJR Isely

Hi I am sorry to hear of your problem, personally I am a big fan of the William of Alamore series, and am looking forward to any new releases from you, I have a Kindle, so purchase my books through Amazon. When a new series starts I usually wait until it is complete before purchasing, although sometimes I buy them as they are released, but do not start reading them until the series is complete. So I have many books lined up, awaiting the completion of the series. I do however sometimes get a reader's block! Can't find anything that I really want to get my teeth into, times like these I tend to re-read my favourite series. Yours is one such that I have re-read and thoroughly enjoyed 2nd time around, perhaps because I take more time to read them, savouring the anticipation of what comes next!! Hope you can sort yourself out and you should be proud of what you have achieved so far. Looking forward to your next project with exciting anticipation, not matter how long it takes. xx
